CPA Firm BNKJ Announces New Entity, BNKJ Consulting, LLC
Thursday, August 5, 2010. Atlanta, GA. One of Atlanta’s top accounting firms, Babush, Neiman, Kornman & Johnson, LLP (BNKJ), has formed a new entity called BNKJ Consulting, LLC which will focus on helping companies take advantage of economic incentives and minimize indirect state and municipal taxes.
BNKJ has hired Frank Lewandowski, a 31 year UPS veteran from that company’s tax and accounting departments, to lead BNKJ Consulting, LLC as the Director of Tax. While at UPS, Frank focused on these special tax areas, and saved UPS an average of $15 million in each of the past five years through business economic incentives and indirect tax savings.
The primary five areas of tax Frank will lead are
- Business/ Economic Incentives
- Property Taxes (Real and Personal)
- Unemployment Tax
- Unclaimed Property
- Sales and Use Tax
Frank will work with the accounting, tax and/or human resource professionals at BNKJ’s larger clients, including large privately held as well as Fortune 2000 companies, to help them minimize their tax burdens in these sophisticated and complex areas of taxation.
“We are very excited that Frank has joined our team,” said Managing Partner Chris Clayton. “For many business organizations, especially large entities and powerhouse companies, taxes are very likely going to increase significantly in 2011 and beyond. Knowing how to take advantage of incentives such as job and retraining credits, real property and other indirect taxes can save our clients huge amounts of money every year. Frank is going to help them do that.”
This area of accounting is very specialized, so BNKJ will be one of the few firms in the City with this offering. “Not many people know how to do what Frank does, so we are especially proud to be able to offer this service line,” said Clayton.
Frank earned his Bachelors of Science degree in Accounting at New York University, and is a member of the Committee on State Taxation, the Institute for Professionals in Taxation and the International and Georgia Association of Assessing Officers. |
