Personal Finance and Economics for High School & College Age Children
There is no set recipe or formula for teaching children to become responsible money managers. As parents, you can do a great deal to help your children develop healthy attitudes about money, its purpose and limits. BNKJ is pleased to offer your high school and college age children the opportunity to participate in our new program to help them come to grips with some of the basic principles of personal finance and economics.
We designed this complimentary program for your children with the help of SunTrust Bank for several reasons. First, students make significant choices about money management. They often have jobs, or received gifts from parents or other relatives.
Secondly, these students often have limited knowledge about spending, saving, and investing money wisely. Thirdly, students are on the cusp of financial independence. This may be their only chance to formally think and talk about money in a classroom setting.
Many young people fail in the management of their first consumer credit experience, establish bad financial management habits and stumble through their lives learning by trial and error. To help you better prepare your children, we welcome the participation of your children and their friends in our program on Monday, July 26. To accommodate work schedules, there are two sessions to pick from 11:30 a.m. – 1:00 p.m. and another from 4:30 p.m. – 6:00 p.m.
