A Medical Insurance Update
In 2004, U.S. health care costs will continue to escalate at a double-digit. At the same time, HIPAA (Health Insurance Portability And Accountability Act) and the recently widely publicized Medicare Prescription Drug and Modernization Medicare Act, which introduced HSAs (Health Savings Accounts), have potential to not only affect your group’s insurance plans, but your taxes as well
Please join BNKJ on Thursday, June 24 as our Lunch and Learn program entitled A Medical Insurance Update explores how HIPAA and HSAs can impact you, your healthcare coverage and tax savings. Our special guests from Peachtree Benefit Group will discuss what is involved in making your organization HIPAA compliant and how a HAS can help your company contain medical insurance premiums.
HSAs can be funded on a pre-tax basis through a cafeteria plan – opening a whole-new avenue for consumer-driven healthcare. The concepts of HSAs are easy. You have the opportunity to take charge of your own health costs. You’ll be able to put money into that account and deduct the contribution. You pay no taxes while the money is held in the account. And, if you take the dollars out for the right reasons, there’s no tax ever.
For those frustrated by the double-digit increases in health insurance, make plans to attend BNKJ’s June 24 Lunch and Learn from 11:30 a.m. – 1:00 p.m.
